The Stanford Method is a sound approach to developing lifelong eating habits and safely achieving permanent weight loss. Rather than regarding weight loss as another “dreaded diet” our program helps clients develop positive eating habits that last.  The program is designed to help clients become physically and emotionally satisfied with moderate portions of the healthiest foods.

We encourage clients to avoid extremes.  So, our plan simply reinforces eating three meals a day; balancing those meals- protein, complex carbohydrates and healthy fats; eating in moderation; drinking water and engaging in physical activity (if a client is able to).
 
With a combination of hypnosis and neurolinguistic programming, emotional blocks to weight loss and self-sabotaging behaviors are addressed. Negative, self-defeating messages from the past are replaced with self-empowering thoughts and their resulting behavior.
 
Clients develop the mindset, ability and motivation to envision themselves as fit and healthy and of deserving of the good feelings that come from being in control of their food intake. Negative patterns frequently begin to diminish after the first session.
 
Some clients find that they no longer want junk food, fast food or sodas. Some clients choose to eliminate white sugar and white flour fromtheir diets.Some find that they finally enjoy planning and preparing healthy meals and find ways to incorporate exercise into the busiest and most demanding of lifestyles.

In any case, habits improve in a very natural way and the resulting loss of weight becomes easy to maintain.

Our personal sessions are customized to our clients’ individual needs and the hypnosis portion of the session is recorded on an audio CD for "at home reinforcement".
